It endless offering of unique novelties and notorieties make this a New York City staple for locals and tourists alike. Their deep fried Oreos, iconic egg cream and wall of sweets are the perfect spot to visit, come relaxin time. Its interior impitimizes what New York is, it highlights Rays commitment to serve the community, no matter what food item it is, they have proven to deliver any food item with good quality to their customers.
Once you enter the shop on 113 Avenue A, you’re greeted with a wall lined with new addition after another(option after option), the shop has infinite favorable options that will fit anyone in NY.
Their top items are iconic for a reason, their deep fried Oreos are the best we’ve ever had. The outer shell is soft and has an inner warm Oreo on the interior Their beignets aren’t something to overlook as well. They have a good crunch texture with fresh warm chewy interior, covered in powdered sugar. Their egg cream is very enjoyable, but simple. It is simply “just seltzer and [chocolate/vanilla]syrup”(Miss Alvarez).
We ordered the black and white Egg Cream(Vanilla and Chocolate) and the 8$ Beignet(10Pc) and Oreo(6oc) Combo. We consider the best item from Ray’s to be their Deep Fried Oreo. We also recommend going to the park across the street and enjoy some fried Oreos, while sipping egg cream in the park.
