Morrone’s Water Ice – Est. 1994

Located in West Philadelphia, Morrone’s Ice serves up warm treats and all kinds of flavored water ice to the local neighborhood community. It was founded by Frank Morrone in 1994, and his twist on recipes from his home in Italy continues to provide comfort to the local families in the area.

Many got their cheese whiz covered pretzels, and many orders of local favorites, including Grape, Blueberry and Cherry.

We also tried other of their best options, including Passion Fruit, Strawberry Lemonade and Watermelon. But their best flavors include their lemon and pineapple flavors.

Cons, they aren’t located in the cleanliness of spaces, their flavors are mostly artificial tasting, and besides the lemon, don’t have much natural flavoring to them. It’s an enjoyable time with friends, but it’s not the spot for high quality desserts. We recommend Marrone’s for groups or couples who enjoy trying new spots. There isn’t spots to sit and chat, but its worth trying out if comfortable.

Taking the location, atmosphere, quality, and customer service, we give Marrone’s Water Ice a:
