I might have to make a section just for things on 永康街. Anyways, located on 永康街, 永康牛肉麵 is know for, you guessed it, 牛肉麵。like that’s it. It’s one of Taiwans best beef noodle soup restaurants and had the Michelin bib gourmet distinction from 2018-2022. Let’s be honest, Michelin is simply based. This should be a Michelin starred spot, but it’s in Taiwan, has a long line, doesn’t do anything fancy or extravagant but make darn good beef noodle soup. It’s better than many one star Michelin restaurants in France and America.

Established in 1963 by Mr. Cheng, who brought his Szechuan recipe over after the peasant communists took over. And his recipe has been getting served at this establishment ever since.

This is one of the most popular beef noodle soup spots in the country and city, thus you might have to wait in a line. But if you pick and choose times that avoid the regular hours, you shouldn’t have to wait that long.

This is not their only standout dish, as they sticky rice topped with is a perfect complementary dish and their spicy wontons.
